SHASS continues to expand services
SHASS is adding more information and assistance for seniors, especially for those needing help with Medicare/Medicaid. Vikke Andersen of our Care Watch program attended training sessions to be our Michigan Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program Counselor. She's now busy conducting seminars and answering seniors' questions about the upcoming Medicare changes. Vikke is planning more seminars for November, but the dates have not been finalized. If you have questions on Medicare, please call SHASS at 637-3607.
SHASS has also linked its services with Covert Senior LifeLine Center. There will be more information on that as it becomes available next month.
Another service provided through SHASS each month is a hearing screening. Seniors can call SHASS at 637-3607 to set up an appointment for this free screening, held at the Warren Senior Center, and conducted by Professional Hearing Services from St. Joseph, Michigan.
SHASS is proud of its new Information and Assistance Library. It contains books and videos with information on all kinds of health issues and care giver issues. Items can be checked out. The library's hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The library is located at the Warren Senior Center's computer lab. Feel free to come and check it out.
Enjoy this fabulous fall season and do something special for yourself like take a walk along the shoreline and watch the seagulls soar.
